Equally appreciated the right to choose not to buy a gun or a pack of cigarettes just because somebody in the business of selling them is telling you to do so. Even more appreciated the right to express yourself when you find yet another advertisement wrapped in a flag.

Right. I am not sure on this, but I suspect the "the frisbee sports" are equally effective in all those areas, that's not quite enough reason for me.

Small caliber guns for target range and (very CAREFULLY regarded) home protection is a good idea in my opinion. I don't get angry or depressed because a neighbor of mine owns a glock 9mm, but I would have a problem if that person had a real arrest record (other than stupid, non violent things).

I personally wish to own a gun and use it to go shooting at a range, because I think that is a fun thing to do. That doesn't make me a bigot or a redneck. If you honestly think people buy guns because cowboys used to you should reconsider your stance on that issue. If you have the discipline to own a gun you should have the right to. I agree a gun is very dangerous in "the wrong hands", but that shouldn't take my right to own one away from me.

To all you gun-owning, Kerry-voting Democrats, you know when you talk to a republican and they say "George Bush is a strong leader" or "Gays shouldn't be allowed to marry" or "Bush can protect us" and you wrinkle up your nose and scratch your head and wonder how on earth they can think like that.

That's exactly how some of us Brits feel when we talk to you about guns.

So think about what it would take to to make you give up your guns and this is how you win the next election.
